What we will do and why
Blue Light aims to support the decarbonisation of emergency services by developing and implementing innovative tools and strategies to facilitate their decarbonisation plans.
Key deliverables
- Comprehensive research and shortlist potential solutions.
- Stakeholder engagement leading to the collaboratively designed tool for mapping electrification plans.
- Optimise strategy and accessing data and support at suitable times in the journey.
Target outcomes
- Assist the services in making informed decisions.
- Reduce the time and resources required to provide successful connections.
- Improve UK Power Networks view of expected connections activities, and potential Load Related Reinforcement needs.
- Enable greater opportunities for street works collaboration.

Electric Vehicle Consent Solution Guide
We will create a guide to provide guidance regarding the consents required for Charge Point Operators (CPO) and for the CPO Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNO), it will set out a hierarchy of connections to minimise the requirement for consents and to streamline the connection process.
